Salvador Dali – Surreal Chupa VII
The seventh in a new series of Surreal nostalgia paintings, paintings 1-4 have already sold.
This one features an homage to Salvadore Dali whos work I find inspirational and Chupa Chups lollypops which I loved as a kid. Here a play on Dali’s classical Lobster phone but this time with a Chupa Chup lolly.
The thing that not many people know is that the great surrealist Dali designed the Chupa Chups logo ‘back in the day’ around 1969…how cool is that? It’s still in use today and remains timeless – pure genius!
Artist Martin Allen
is a London based. Martin came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of his life and being largely self-taught he was eventually re-introduced to oil painting as a preferred medium to create his varied and diverse work. The methods he uses to paint are classic ones, using layered paint applications rounded off by oil glazes. These create, add depth and harmonise colours. He has shown solo numerous times at Goodwood, The Affordable Art Fair and others, been a finalist at the ‘London art Biennale 2019’, alongside various commissions including work for the BP Shipping collection.
