After reading many pilots accounts of their experiences during WW2 I wanted to paint a tribute to their braveness and created this montage.
At one time owned and flown by the legendary Ray Hanna Spitfire MH434 still flies today. Here the spitfire is shown in he markings of the WW2 fighter ace Douglas Bader. The painting is based on a photo by Richard Huckett. The pilot is unknown and based an old B&W wartime pic of an RAF pilot asleep between sorties.
The original oil on canvas painting is available, sized at 24″ x 36″ (61cm x 91cm), framed in a solid wood black tray frame.
Limited edition prints are still available from an edition of 100 and sized at 16″ x 23″ (42cm x 59cm) are still available. Each is printed on Somerset Velvet acid-free paper with Archival Inks.
Every limited edition print is signed and numbered by the artist and comes with its own certificate of authenticity. The prints are shipped rolled in a cardboard tube.
NB – frames are not included with the prints.
