The whole painting process began with a passion for historic motor racing and vintage planes. Having been a Goodwood Road Racing club member for a number of years along with attending almost every Goodwood Revival it only felt right that motorsport car art and motorsport art prints should start here. When I first picked up a brush in 2018 I decided to put a bit of pressure on myself to complete a body of racing art and booked a shop display for the 2019 Goodwood Revival. Lotus 49 – Original
£3,250.00 Add to cartAn original oil painting of Jim Clark in his Lotus type 49 race car, overlooked by the Lotus boss Colin Chapman and the Lotus mechanics at the Dutch Grand Prix Zandvoort 1967.
Team Lotus were almost off the ground with pride, having two Lotus 49 cars with Cosworth 3-litre V8 engines, one being the car that Graham Hill had been testing in England and the other being brand-new, which Clark saw for the first time when he arrived on the morning of the first practice day.
