Converse Stars n Stripes
I found my 20 year old pair of old vintage Chuck Taylor All Star Americana Converse Trainers still in their box hiding down the back of my wardrobe and thinking about for something new to paint thought these would make a great series to paint as waves of nostalgia and memories came flooding back. So here it is the first in a new series and first large painting for 2022.
If you like ‘Converse Stars n Stripes’ my Converse Chuck Taylor Oil Painting you may also like ‘Life Imitates Art’, my painting of my pair of Converse Andy Warhol Campbells Soup sneakers.
Artist Martin Allen
is a London based. Martin came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of his life and being largely self-taught he was eventually re-introduced to oil painting as a preferred medium to create his varied and diverse work. The methods he uses to paint are classic ones, using layered paint applications rounded off by oil glazes. These create, add depth and harmonise colours. He has shown solo numerous times at Goodwood, The Affordable Art Fair and others, been a finalist at the ‘London art Biennale 2019’, alongside various commissions including work for the BP Shipping collection.
